At St George’s Pre School children are encouraged to explore our play based environment both indoors and outdoors. It is through play that children learn to make sense of their world and develop socially, physically, creatively and intellectually.
Every child has a key member of staff to support and work directly with them and their parents/carers. The staff prepare and deliver a personalised plan for each child’s care, well-being and learning.

The Pre School is registered to offer 24 places each day for children between the ages of 2 and 4 years. We are a term time only Pre School.
Our staff are all highly qualified, passionate, and have many years of experience in childcare and development between them. We continue to increase our knowledge regularly always interested ourselves in finding new methods and ways of learning.
Our latest OFSTED report rated our school as Good. You can read our latest OFSTED report here. In addition to our SEND Offer here.
Please note: attendance at St George’s Pre School does not guarantee a place at St George’s Catholic Primary School. All school admissions places are processed by Somerset County Council- Admissions Department, please read Somerset County Council’s Primary Admission Guide for criteria.
St George’s Pre School opened in February 2014 and operates from a purpose built modular building. It is open and accessible to all members of the community.
Inside we have defined spaces which incorporate, creative areas, construction areas, role play areas and a quiet book corner. We encourage free flow play all year round and children can access the large outdoor area through double doors leading directly into our garden.
Children from 9 months old may be eligible for up to 30 funded hours per week through the Working Family Entitlement. All children become entitled to 15 funded hours from the term after their 3rd birthday.
We are eligible to accept those qualifying children in receipt of 2 year old funding.
